For the sustainable management of a destination, it is important to know what is going on in this destination. Where does growth in tourism supply take places and where is this not the case? What are the demands and preferences tourists have? What are the latest trends? Besides the fact that many decision-making processes are of a political matter, it is important to have insights into the questions raised above. The annual Trendrapport on tourism, recreation and leisure 2018 offers insights into tourism, leisure and hospitality. This report provides an up-to-date statistical overview of supply and demand in the tourism sector and provides insight into trends and innovations.

CELTH provides a number of important contributions in the realisation of this report and the event. For example, CELTH program managers Jorrit Bijl (HZ University of Applied Sciences) and Jasper Heslinga (NHL Stenden ETFI) are in the editorial board of this report and ETFI director Stefan Hartman presents the position paper commissioned by CELTH on sustainable destination development.
