CHME 2027: international hospitality conference comes to Breda

From 25 to 28 May 2027, Breda University of Applied Sciences will host the 35th conference of the Council for Hospitality Management Education (CHME). Researchers, educators, industry professionals and policymakers from the Netherlands and abroad will meet in Breda to talk about the future of hospitality.

Hospitality is one of the world’s largest employers, and it is changing fast. Labour markets are shifting, digital and AI tools are changing how the work is done, guests expect different things and sustainability matters more every year. That is why the conference theme is Hospitality in Transition – Experiences, Places and People. The central question is how the sector is changing, and who it is changing for.

The programme follows three lines:

  • Experiences: how digital, AI-enabled and human encounters create value and meaning for guests.
  • Places: how hospitality helps make destinations and communities good places to live.
  • People: how work, skills, leadership and education are being reshaped.

Sessions will cover hospitality management, critical and cultural perspectives on hospitality, and learning and teaching in hospitality education.
