Guideline for economic impact analysis in tourism and recreation

KNEITER, (Kennisnetwerk Economische Impactanalyses Toerisme En Recreatie), is a collaboration between Breda University of Applied Sciences and HZ University of Applied Sciences, four consultancy firms (Bureau Buiten, Decisio, Dynamic Concepts/Markteffect and ZKA) and Mulier Instituut. The aim of KNEITER is to increase the quality of economic impact analysis in tourism and recreation in the Netherlands, by sharing existing knowledge and by improving the methods and models used.

We developed a guideline for economic impact analysis in tourism and recreation. This guideline makes clear what the minimum quality requirements are that an economic impact analysis must meet, in terms of data sources, definitions and methods. The ultimate goal for the KNEITER guideline is to contribute to better and more comparable economic impact studies, on the basis of which better decisions can be made.

The project is part of the Data & Development Lab conducted in cooperation with KNEITER, NBTC and CBS.
