In 1987, the Brundtland Commission published its report "Our Communal Future," which for the first time called for more sustainable development defined as "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

In this third meeting of the #NLTourismResearchNetwork, we continue to build knowledge development around the sustainable development of leisure, tourism and hospitality. We explore how to take all aspects of tourism research beyond Brundtland As Usual.

In the afternoon, after lunch, the Graduate Network Tourism, Leisure & Hospitality will be launched. The professional doctorate (PD) is the new proprietary doctoral program of the Dutch universities of applied sciences focused on innovations in professional practice.
