Vacancy professional doctorate 

The Dutch universities of applied sciences started a pilot for their own doctoral program in 2023: the professional doctorate (PD). Leisure, Tourism & Hospitality is also participating in this pilot and has room for 17 candidates. They can spend the next four years working as researchers, innovators and change agents. 

Candidates are trained to become highly qualified professionals who learn to intervene in complex practices. They can pick up knowledge and design questions with their practice-oriented know-how and thus contribute to sustainable innovation in the sector.

The professional doctorate in leisure, tourism and hospitality is offered by seven universities of applied sciences in the leisure, tourism and hospitality domain: Hotelschool The Hague, HZ University of Applied Sciences, Saxion Hogeschool, Inholland Hogeschool, Breda University of Applied Sciences, Hotel Management School Maastricht and NHL Stenden Hogeschool.
